With Immigration beginning to take a front seat in last night’s California Supreme Court ruling on Immigration and Mitty students advocating and learning the new direction Congress is taking this week on Comprehensive and DREAM Act Legislation, our students are on the forefront of helping thousands of people be able to afford education in California.
With their thorough preparation and professionalism, Mitty students proved to excel in the excitement and intensity of negotiation on Capitol Hill.
One of the many highlights of the trip was a brilliant interchange with Ms. Ur Mendoza Jaddou, Chief Counsel for Congresswoman Zoe Lofgren. Ms. Jaddou and Mitty students held a productive and positive discussion on the strategies to support and pass legislation on Immigration reform. Head facilitator Mitty junior Alisha Dua remarked Immigration Reform is prime for bipartisan support as the change in majority takes place.
